We install a piece of proprietry software onto your servers and computers that look for specific problems and then report back to us. We check the logs every day looking for any potential problems - for example, you may have hard disks that are running out of space, or a disk in your RAID array has failed and needs replacing. We can then order in the required part and replace it, without your network grinding to a halt and the issue becoming an urgent emergency!
Managed services are the same as 24/7 monitoring - a set of tools and services that can be used to monitor and maintain the health and performance of your network and proactively eliminate problems before they have the chance to effect system uptime.
Since a virus is technically an unwelcome software program that is installed on your computer, the way it affects your computer will vary depending upon the virus program as well as your operating system. In fact, if the virus is very well programmed, you may not notice any signs of infection at all. Furthermore, some of the signs that are commonly associated with a virus infection may actually be caused by something else. Still, some of the signs that are most commonly associated with a virus include:
  • Your computer starts running more slowly than usual
  • Your computer stops responding to you or starts "locking up"
  • You start receiving unusual error messages

Retail software can be removed from one computer and installed on a new one within the terms of the license agreement for a particular program.

If it is a retail version, however, the license may be transferred to a new computer if the software is removed from the old one (depending on the license agreement for the version of Office you have).     In almost every case the answer to this question is yes. There are companies, like Pre-emptive Strike, that can recover data from computers that have been attacked by viruses. It should be noted that it is never possible to guarantee full data recovery, but it is rare that most if not all of the data from a dead computer can be recovered.
